It's a hot bag, but it does not heat on the outside of the bag. Only inside (hands). All hot bags that I have bought so far, also heat on the outside as well. This product is really limited to hand heating (while hands are stuck inside). It probably does this in order not to lose heat. The fact that it's portable is good, but it means that it only works when connected to a power source. As soon as it is disconnected it starts loosing heat immediately (unlike a water bag that remains hot). This product is not replacement for a water bag (unfortunately).
